A Quick Look at the 2017 Mercedes Sprinter

Mercedes-Benz is a company which is globally renowned for its ability to manufacture and design luxury performance cars. But, for the last 21 years, the company have also been producing the Sprinter as their version of a standard Van. Being Mercedes it will obviously be a more expensive and luxurious van, but of course it is also a quality van still. So, with the 2017 update, what should we expect?

With a van, there will be a much bigger focus upon the features rather than the actual design of the Sprinters. And Mercedes have certainly accomplished this. They will come with a varied amount of driver assistance technologies and wider fleet connectivity. At this moment in time, it is unknown if these assistance options will come as standard or will have to be an optional add-ons. But either way, the Mercedes Sprinter will have more technological features than any of its rivals.

A-Quick-Look-at-the-2017-Mercedes-SprinterThe Sprinters will come with a 2.1 litre four cylinder BlueTEC diesel engine. This will allow the van to produce around 161hp whilst also being environmentally friendly. By including stage cooling, selective catalytic reduction, diesel exhaust fluid injection and a particulate filter, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter will comply with the Euro6 emissions legislation which will come into effect as of September 2016.  One of the results from this eco move, is a partnership with the tool company HSS which we have explained previously.

Each of the Sprinters will come with the same body, engine size and colour. They will all be identical. The reason behind this, is that it enables Mercedes to bring down the costs of production and therefore sales too. It has been rumoured that this move may save some potential buyers around £4,000. But still, expect the Sprinter to be expensive but highly impressive either way. It is Mercedes and if you want quality, then you will have to pay for it.

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinters will most certainly be sprinting off the forecourts when they go on sale towards the end of this year…
