Eco and fuel efficiency
As excepted, the Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG boasts better green credentials than the current version. It is able to achieve an average of 23.9 MPG and emits 276g/km of C02. Those can be considered quite respectable efficiency figures considering the power of the car. The car also comes with engine start stop technology, allowing the engine to turn off when the car is idle and starting up immediately when the vehicles needs to be driven off again.
The Mercedes-Benz Active Curve System gives the car great handling abilities. The car’s body roll is fully under control at high speeds. Overall the vehicle possesses great agility considering that it is a 4×4.
There is no longer a manual gearbox option available. Instead owners will get to enjoy the magnificent AMG Speedshift Plus 7G Tronic automatic gearbox transmission. It has three modes on it which suit different styles of driving. These include Economy mode, Sports mode and manual control mode through steering wheel shifters.
In preparation to the L.A Motor Show, Ola Kallenius, the chairman of the Mercedes-Benx GmbH, said that the ML 63 AMG is a major improvement and sets completely new standards. He said
“Like its predecessors, the 2012 ML63 AMG sets new standards in terms of performance, exclusivity and an outstanding driving experience — plus the efficiency factor, which is acquiring ever greater emphasis at Mercedes-AMG,”.
“As the inventor of the high-performance SUV, we remain true to the philosophy which we introduced, in 1999, with the 2000MY ML55 AMG, and continued with the 2007MY ML63 AMG.”
The Mercedes-Benz ML 63 sounds like a hell of a car.
