Mercedes-Benz bring Performance Driving to India
Mercedes-Benz has combined with Jaypee Sports International Limited to bring the AMG Performance driving academy to India. The Academy will be located at the Buddh International Circuit which is in Greater Noida. The finished product will go under the name of JPSI-AMG Performance Driving Academy.
Peter Honegg, the Mercedes-Benz India CEO said that this is a first for India and it has come at the right time. His exact words were “With Buddh International Circuit, we have laid strong foundations together for Motorsports in India. The F1 debut was just the beginning. JPSI and Mercedes-Benz take this step further by offering India’s first performance driving academy. Under the guidance of expert instructors who are themselves former race drivers and champions, our patrons will now have an opportunity to hone their driving skills. Performance driving has come of age in India and the popularity of AMG is testimony to that.”
He went on to say how great the track was itself. “Buddh International Circuit has been hailed as one of the best tracks in the world and we are delighted to offer racing enthusiast an opportunity to experience AMG Performance Driving. Mercedes-Benz has decades of experience in this arena and we have found the perfect partner in them,” said Sameer Gaur, Managing Director and CEO, Jaypee Sports International (JPSI)”
The brilliance of AMG
The Mercedes-Benz AMG range is the best type of performance cars in what the company is able to offer. Ola Käellenius, CEO of Mercedes-AMG let everyone know just how great having such a range within the course was. The actual Academy looks like it could be something quite special. There will be great courses offered that are taught by experienced trainers, helping to bring out the best in budding race drivers. This will surely be an invaluable experience for such trainees and will enhance India’s Motorsport credentials by quite a bit.
