The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT
Just by looking at images of the new Mercedes-Benz SLS GT, you can see what a splendid vehicle with an astonishing amount of power. Will we be able to afford one? The answer for most of us would be no.
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT is essentially a revamped version of the SLS AMG. What’s different?
The exterior has headlights which have been made darker along with the taillights. The red brake callipers really stand out along with the 10 spoke alloys wheel which covers them. Everyone will be able to tell that this is indeed a GT model with the GT bade being placed on the rear.
Inside the car come Alacantara features on the doors and seats. A nice contrast within the further leather packages, with red stitching being included too.
Enough about the looks… let’s hear about the power
The car is very pretty, but the main changes are located at the car’s heart. Under the bonnet there is a 6.2 litre V8 which is able to produce 583 BHP, that’s an outstanding 20 BHP more than the standard Mercedes-Benz SLS.
The outstanding performance
The vehicle’s top speed will remain at 197 MPH (Would you need any more power?). In just 3.7 seconds the car will race to 0 – 62 MPH, an astonishingly quick time.
The DCT-7 dual clutch gearbox makes a comeback
The famous Mercedes-Benz AMG Speed shift DCT-7 dual clutch gearbox has made a comeback, with many fans pleased about this particular bit of news.
A change for better within the suspension system
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT has a much better fitted suspension too. The three stage adaptive system has now been replaced with a two stage AMG ride control system. This has improved the ride and handling dramatically. That essentially means that there is no more ‘Comfort’ mode. If you buy a vehicle of this type would you really want to experience a more comfortable driving experience? This car is about raw power and performance. The two stage suspension can now focus on what it was made for. Naturally the element and comfort and refinement has been compromised somewhat but we don’t believe that you will hear many new owners complaining.
A convertible version set to be made available
The new GT model will be offered as a convertible this time round along with the SLS AMG and the Roadster version.
