Upgrade products from AMG included lightened valve trains, aggressive camshafts which increased the vehicle’s performance a great deal. Mercedes-Benz high performance models are able to be improved a great deal. At the beginning of the last decade, the AMG brand mainly worked on developing supercharged V8 and V6 engines. Many believe this would be a natural step forward for the Mercedes-Benz AMG division in this moment of time. AMG models are generally automatic, with 5G Tronic transmissions being used and more recently 7G Tronic gearbox transmissions with Speedshift. A 7 Speed AMG Speedshift MCT automatic transmission was adopted during 2009, giving the company a slight change of direction in terms of gear transmissions.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG high performance division also work with Pagani. The Italian supercar giant receives handmade engines for their spectacular Zonda model. The AMG division modifies the M120 7 litre engine V12. This specific engine has been previously used in the Mercedes-Benz SL73 AMG. The AMG developed M120 engine has been exclusively adopted by Paganini. Mercedes-Benz AMG has developed a Black Series upgrade studio. These are simply upgrades from the typical set of AMG models. The Black Series performance studio is based in Affalterbach. Only 2 door vehicles are available for such treatment. Upgrades procedures include new bucket seats, various exterior bodywork modifications and a weight reduction. Mercedes-Benz AMG Black Series models include SLK 55 AMG Black Series, CLK 63 AMG Black Series, SL 65 AMG Black Series and the C 63 AMG Black Series.Mercedes-Benz high performance AMG models are perhaps one of the most desired vehicles on the world car market.
