A recap of the Geneva Motor Show – The Mercedes-Benz Viano Pearl
Is this the most luxurious van in the world? The Mercedes-Benz Viano Pearl is so luxurious that it has given other vehicles within the Mercedes-Benz line-up a run for their money, including the S-Class.
Same as the production model
We were given a sneak peak at the van last year at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, with the concept vehicle shown off named the Viano Vision Pearl. This gave everyone a preview of what the van at the Geneva Motor Show would essentially resemble. The model shown off here will be no different to the final production version if reports are to be believed.
What are the main differences between the standard Mercedes-Benz Viano? There will be brand new LED daytime running headlights with a front fascia and a newly designed front grille. The huge 19 inch two tone alloy wheels are finished with magno allanite grey paint.
The exterior is quite spectacular but it is the interior where the real benefits are. Sitting inside you get nappa leather seats which are extremely comfortable to sit on. Nice touches of woodwork are found on the rear floor, side steps as well as the side trim panels. The seats will come with two toned patterns of seashell grey, grey beige leather that come with contrasting stitching. Some reviews have described the interior as resembling a stylish type of yacht, which is quite a wonderful compliment indeed.
The glass roof comes in handy for those wonderful sunny days. If you want to change the mood, Mercedes-Benz’s Magic Sky Control darkens the glass creating a contrasting type of atmosphere. The same functionality is found upon the Mercedes-Benz SLK 2012 and the Mercedes-Benz 2013 Roadsters.
Entertainment is not forgotten about with a bespoke Beosound Viano Bang & Olufsen sound system. There are 18 loud speakers within, ensuring high quality sound surrounds the cabin. The vehicle also comes with installed Wi-Fi access so users can connect to the outside world with ease.
There will only be two available engine options, a petrol and a diesel. These will consist of a 3.5 litre V6 petrol and a 3.0 litre common rail diesel V6, both producing outstanding amounts of power of 258 BHP and 224 BHP respectively.
Like the sound of the Viano Pearl Limited Edition? Orders can only taken from the spring. Deliveries are expected to come in the summer.
