New Mercedes C-Class Coupé prices revealed
The Mercedes C-Class range gains a newly updated addition just in time for Christmas. With the saloon and estate versions already available, the new C-Class Coupé is ready to pre-order now and will be in showrooms this December.
Prices begin at £30,995 and buyers have a selection of six engine options. They will choose between three 2.0-litre petrol models: the 184bhp C200, the 211bhp C250 and the 245bhp C300. One 1.6-litre petrol engine: the 156bhp C180, and two diesel models: the 170bhp C220d and the 204bhp C250d, both with a 2.1 four-cylinder engine. The car is also available in the AMG C63 model with a 476bhp 4.0-litre engine, prices of which start at £61,160.
If you thought that was it, you’re mistaken. Even the C63 has an upgrade: the AMG C63 S. Manufactured to revival the BMW M4 and Audi A5, the new C63 S is the fastest model of the line-up. With 510bhp and AMG twin turbocharged V8, the car can get from 0-62mph in under 4.0 seconds. The C63 is no slow car, but the C63 S offers a driving enthusiast more speed and a hefty 516lb ft of torque. You’ll need a spare £68,070 lying about if you want to get your hands on one though.
The new standard Coupé is 9.5cm longer than its predecessor and 4cm wider, creating more space in the cabin. All the models available come with standard equipment already fitted: LED lights for front and rear, parking sensors, reversing camera, Sat-Nav and heated front seats, as well as software like Attention Assist. Additional options come at a price but many seem worthwhile. Including the Distronic Plus, which is perfect for preventing collisions as it mirrors the driver in front of you, whether they speed up or break.
The interior has been upgraded drastically from its predecessor, now looking more like the inside of the Mercedes C-Class saloon. Test drivers and critics all praise the look of the interior of the new Coupé. It clearly fits the sporty brief Mercedes were aiming for.
Will the new C-Class Coupé be on your Christmas list?
