Pricing revealed for the new Mercedes GLS SUV

The Mercedes GLS range has been given a stylised upgrade ready for the new year. With a new name and badge, the largest SUVs in the Mercedes catalogue are ready to order in the UK now.

The new range is available in the UK in three trim levels: the GLS AMG Line, the designo Line, and the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 4MATIC.

The exterior has a few subtle updates, yet still remains a true Mercedes SUV. The front and rear have been restyled, adding a chunkier grille and a bolder front-end. The iconic three-pointed star is featured more prominently and the bumpers have been re-sculpted. The headlights have been slim-lined in comparison to the previous model and LED taillights now come as standard.

All the GLS models will come with three rows of seating as standard, with the rear two rows able to electronically fold down for extra boot space. The infotainment screen now sits in the center of the dashboard – the same as most current Mercedes models – with an easy-to-use touchpad in the new center console. The upper-tier trim levels have a large range of upholstery options and the finishes on all the models have been upgraded.

It makes the 0-62mph drive in 7.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 138mph. Fuel economy figures show it does 37.2 mpg and the CO2 emissions are 199g/km.
