The cars material would be mainly carbon fibre if plans to develop the car are to go ahead. This particular type of metal is being considered by many global car manufacturers for future models. It’s more economical as it’s light weight means there will be less drag when driving, hence less petrol needed to shift the car. C02 emissions would also naturally be improved as the car would be a lot less harmful to the environment. However in order to maintain the car’s balance and strength, aluminium along with quality steel is expected to be fitted onto the car. This would bring about a perfect balance of steadiness, strength and robustness for lightweight car.
Cost and size
Rumours suggest that the car could cost the same a Mercedes-Benz S-Class would cost. It is also rumoured that the vehicle could of a similar size to the Mercedes-Benz CLS.
Will it work?
Many are sceptical of the project. Some could ask how could Mercedes-Benz provide the high quality and luxury what they are known for in such a light car? We believe the company have the experience and knowledge to achieve such a feat.
